V.E.T.S (Veterinary Emergency Treatment Service) Leicestershire is a dedicated out of hours veterinary surgery providing emergency and hospital care to pets in Leicester and the surrounding area. V.E.T.S-Leics is based at a newly extended and refurbished Veterinary Hospital. It delivers the same care and service for your pet during nights, weekends and public holidays, as you would expect during normal working hours. It is easily accessible from the outer ring-road, the A46, the M1 and the M69.
Friendly, caring and experienced professional staff are available to answer your calls, examine your pet and provide medical or surgical care should it be necessary, for any condition ranging from something that worries you to an emergency situation.
We understand that you may be concerned about your pet, and are happy to give telephone advice, though please note that diagnoses cannot be made over the telephone. Please call if you are worried.
Key benefits for you and your pet provided by VETS-Leics:
• VETS is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accredited Emergency Services Clinic and works in a Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital.
• Fully qualified, caring and experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses who have an interest in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
• VETS-Leics staff work nights only so they are not tired from being ‘on-call’ after a previous normal day’s work.
• The site is permanently staffed:
• To provide the best service possible VETS-Leics operates an appointment only system. Appointments will usually be straight away but prior notification of any accident or illness helps us to prepare for your arrival and give advice over the phone.
• There is ample on-site parking and full disabled access
• On arrival at VETS please ring the intercom buzzer and wait for it to be answered.
Currently VETS services are available only to affiliated practices. However if your usual vet’s arrangement is not available or if you have an emergency that could be worsened by delaying, VETS staff will be happy to assist you.
For information regarding the fee structure please see financial information.
*V.E.T.S is not a specialist exotics practice - however, we shall provide first aid treatment when necessary.
